Developing a data migration plan

Data migrations are very common in today’s business environment. A recent Experian Data Quality study found that while 91% of businesses engage in data migrations, 85% encounter significant challenges. Top challenges include:

  • Lack of knowledge sharing across departments, with technology providers or with database consultants
  • Lack of data standardization or data consistency
  • Inaccurate information

To ease these challenges, organizations need to develop a clear project plan, engage stakeholders early on and leverage a data-quality solution to ensure data is ready for migration.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
