Developing a data migration plan

by Guest Contributor 1 min read May 22, 2015

Data migrations are very common in today’s business environment. A recent Experian Data Quality study found that while 91% of businesses engage in data migrations, 85% encounter significant challenges. Top challenges include:

  • Lack of knowledge sharing across departments, with technology providers or with database consultants
  • Lack of data standardization or data consistency
  • Inaccurate information

To ease these challenges, organizations need to develop a clear project plan, engage stakeholders early on and leverage a data-quality solution to ensure data is ready for migration.
