Trilogy: Increasing engagement in cybersecurity (Part 3)

Published: September 7, 2017 by Guest Contributor

Cybersecurity cannot be successful if siloed. The entire organization must be part of the effort. Take these steps to ensure a more engaged relationship between cybersecurity teams, C-suite executives and other departments:

  • Make the company’s chief information officer accountable directly to the chief executive officer and/or the board.
  • Train employees at every level to spot security risks and to understand their role in protecting the entire organization from cyberattacks.
  • Put cybersecurity on the agenda for every board and executive-level meeting, and incorporate it into quarterly state-of-the-company, all-hands meetings.

With cybersecurity threats evolving and escalating daily, companies need to make engagement a priority that starts at the top and continues through every level of the organization.

Text legacy

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
