Credit Repair

Credit repair companies charge a fee for working with you to repair your credit. Many people assume working with a credit repair company will help them improve their credit more quickly than if they were to do it on their own, but this is often untrue.

Since credit repair companies have no special access to processes or information beyond your reach, they may not be able to provide the quick fixes you hope for. Additionally, the money you invest in these services is often put to better use by paying down outstanding bills.

Credit Repair Scams

Many people fall victim to credit repair scams. Remember that credit repair companies are prohibited from taking your money until they fully complete the services they promise.

A safer alternative may be to seek out a reputable, nonprofit credit counseling service in your area.
