Seasonal email trends

Published: October 1, 2015 by Carrie Janot

With the holidays around the corner, retailers are getting ready to release their holiday campaigns. Gifts ranked as the most popular email theme for November and December of last year, accounting for 39% of all retail emails during both months. Flash sales and friends and family ranked second and third in November, while shipping deadlines and daily deals held those rankings in December.

Companies can boost transaction rates and customer engagement by personalizing email communications and nurturing customers through triggered emails such as “Did you forget something?” and “Thanks for your purchase.”

Text legacy

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
