‘Tis the season for holiday packages and cards and with that in mind the U.S. Postal Service just released their tips for shipping packages this holiday season. We wanted to share some of those as you prepare for the holiday season.
Some shipping basics they included were:
- Include both ‘to’ and ‘from’ information on packages
- Always use a return address, which tells the Postal Service where to return mail if it cannot be delivered
- Select a box that is strong enough to protect the contents
- Print the complete address clearly
- Never guess a ZIP Code®. No ZIP is better than a wrong ZIP
To find the correct ZIP code, feel free to try QAS Pro Web online or go to www.usps.com.
In addition to those tips, the USPS® does provide suggested holiday mail-by dates so don’t forget them. Mail delivered within the U.S., and mail sent overseas should occur by the following dates:
- December 15th for Parcel Post
- December 19th for DNDC Drop Ship
- December 20th for First Class Mail
- December 21st for Priority Mail
- December 22nd for Express Mail and DDU Drop Ship
Check out the full list of tips from the USPS®. Good luck with your packages and enjoy the holiday season!
