Experian BillFixer™ is a free feature of your eligible Experian membership that can negotiate lower bills for you to help reduce your monthly expenses. From cable, cellphone and internet service to satellite TV and home security systems, BillFixer™ can help you save on everyday bills.Φ
Here's a step-by-step guide on how Experian BillFixer negotiates your bills. With just a few quick steps on your part, BillFixer will do the hard work to lower your bills when possible, saving you both time and money.
1. Sign Up or Log in to Your Eligible Experian Paid Membership Account
BillFixer is included with eligible paid Experian memberships. In addition to BillFixer, these memberships also give you access to other premium Experian tools, including:
- Subscription cancellation services
- Experian CreditLock†
- Dark web surveillance
- Up to $1 million in identity theft insurance
- Dedicated fraud resolution support
- Lost wallet assistance
Once you set up your account, log in and go to the "Money" screen in the navigation menu.
2. Connect Your Accounts
Find the "Recurring" payments section and connect the bank or credit card accounts that you use to pay your bills. We will identify your recurring payments that are eligible for negotiation, as well as subscriptions that can be cancelled.
3. Submit Your Bills
You'll need to submit your bills so that negotiators can reference them as they work on getting you a lower price. Simply download a copy of your bill or snap a photo. Make sure it shows your name, account number, service address and your current plan pricing and features. Follow the instructions to upload the documents, which you can do in the Experian mobile app or in your browser.
BillFixer is secure and uses encryption to protect any personal information included on your bill.
4. Wait as BillFixer Negotiates Your Bills
While expert negotiators work to find your savings, you can sit back and relax. If you grant BillFixer permission, it can simply negotiate in your name. Historically, this has gotten the best results for users. The negotiators can save you hours of time on the phone or chatting with customer service. As they work to negotiate, they'll look for promotional rates, customer loyalty discounts, special packages and additional credits to help lower your bills.
Note: BillFixer won't downgrade your service without your permission. They will alert you if changing your service level will save money, but the decision to modify services is up to you.
5. Enjoy Your Savings
Results are typically available within three to seven business days. You'll receive an email with your results and your monthly or annual savings. When BillFixer finds savings, you get to keep 100% of the total via reduced bills; BillFixer does not take a percentage of your savings.
If we find that you already have the lowest rate, we'll let you know, and will keep looking for new opportunities to save going forward.
You can also opt in to automatic renegotiation when the terms of your current rate expire by enabling AutoFix. This can help you save on an ongoing basis.
